FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s the difference between an emergency room and urgent care?

An Emergency Room (ER) treats serious or life-threatening conditions that need immediate attention—such as chest pain, severe abdominal pain, dehydration, or complex fractures.
Urgent Care is designed for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, including common colds, flu, strep throat, minor cuts, and other everyday health concerns.

Both emergency and urgent care services are available at Deaconess ER and Urgent Care - Lynch Road location.

Are you open 24 hours?

Yes. Deaconess emergency services and urgent care services are available 24/7.

Do you accept walk-ins at your facility?

Yes! We accept walk-ins at our Lynch Road location.

What does in-network and out-of-network mean?

For urgent care services at Deaconess Emergency and Urgent Care in Evansville, being in-network means we have a contract with your insurance company that sets the agreed-upon cost for services you receive. Being out-of-network means we don't have that contract, so your insurance company and benefit plan will determine the rate you're billed.

For emergency care at Deaconess Emergency and Urgent Care, state and federal law require that all patients be treated regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Because of this, your insurance company should treat your visit as in-network. You'll be billed the amount defined by your insurance plan.
